Spring Sports Preview

Girls Lacrosse: “I’m really excited for this upcoming season. There is a lot of new talent that will only add to the success of the team.” (Lindsey Coffey ’20) 

 

Softball: “While we lost a lot of key players last year, we have a great group of returners who are optimistic and excited for this coming season.” (Nicole Fitzgerald ’20)

 

Girls Crew: “Coming off of a great season last year, I am really looking forward to this spring. We have good momentum and we are excited for what’s in store.” (Emma Stone ’20)

 

Girls Track and Field: “I think the girls team is looking at a really successful season. We have a lot of returning varsity players and some new potential talent that we are all really excited about.” (Sasjha Mayfield ’21)

 

Girls Golf: “Our team has the potential to be really good this year. We have some new players coming in and I am excited to see how well they do.” (Jessica Shao ’20)

 

Ultimate Frisbee: “I’m really excited to start up ultimate again this season. It’s just a really fun time to relax and play a beautiful sport but still have that competitive and team aspect to it.” (Shannon Quintana ’21)

 

Baseball: “I am super excited for the season this year. We have a lot of younger guys coming back as 4th formers that are going to be super helpful to the team and I think we have a really good chance at winning MAPLs this year.” (Mike Rock ’20)

 

Boys Track and Field: “We are coming off a really strong last season and we are looking to defend our MAPL and PAISAA championships. We have a lot of good talent here and new talent coming in, so it is going to be really good.” (Eric Galante ’20)

 

Boys Tennis: “With the coach, Coach Vemuri, and a new start to the season, the entire team is excited to improve and also get new knowledge from the new program leaders. We hope we can jump right into the new season bringing the experience from the past and looking forward to the opportunities to come.” (Philippe Jin ’21 )

 

Boys Lacrosse: “We have been looking forward to this moment all year, and now it is finally here. Everything we worked for will come to the test this season. It is our time to shine and show everyone what we are made of.” (Carter Straub ’21) 

 

Boys Crew: Marching towards the beginning of the 2020 rowing season, we are looking forward to having one of the best rowing seasons for The Hill School Boat Club. This year, we are lucky enough to fill four boats with experienced rowers who are willing to improve and work hard at every practice. In total, we have around six coaches. Most of them have rowed in college or coached for a long time. This season is predicted to be one of the best and fastest seasons for us, and we are very excited for our first regatta. (David Chow ’21)

 

Boys Golf: “We, as a very young team, hope to excel. More importantly, we hope to gain experience. That is really the true value of high school golf, and we hope that everyone can strive for this goal. On another note, we hope to successfully defend our ‘Crooked Stick’ title with Lawrenceville for a 7th straight year.” (Billy Gussler ‘21)
