Keeping up with COVID-19
The Coronavirus pandemic is a dark time for the entire country and the world. With the shutdown of all non-essential stores across America and the unprecedented amount of isolation that resulted, millions are wondering when the COVID-19 quarantine will all be over. Relaxing with family and catching up on work was effective for the first month, but now people are starting to get nervous about how much more time there is to the enforced quarantine.
Here’s the question to ask as another week of social distancing turns the corner: What can I do to keep busy? Luckily, the result of millions of people being bored is that more and more content is being uploaded daily. Movies like “Trolls” are premiering online for the first time ever, and more and more formerly neglected shows are being discovered every day.
One of the main ways you can alleviate your boredom is with Instagram lives. Every day at 2:00 PM EST, the Sportscenter Instagram account hosts Richard Jefferson and a special guest to respond to questions from fans. Watching some of the NBA’s top players such as LeBron James and Damian Lillardjoking about their hairlines is something that cannot be missed.
Furthermore, artists such as Machine Gun Kelly are releasing new, raw, soul-splitting songs on private accounts. Social distancing has not only allowed fans to watch more of their favorite content from their favorite entertainers, but it has also put fans and celebrities on a level playing field. Fans realize that even celebrities that had seemed almost untouchable before are stuck at home doing the same thing they’re doing, attempting to escape monotony.
So, if you’re ever bored, make sure to hop on your favorite social media platforms and do the one thing that will certainly entertain you: get to know your favorite celebrities. They are no longer scoring baskets at Madison Square Garden. Instead, they are in their own kitchens, available to talk for the first time.
