One tradition that usually takes place in the beginning of the school year is Convocation, which is now scheduled for Sept. 15. Headmaster Zack Lehman believes Convocation is the most inspiring event of the year.”

OPINION • “After your first year of high school, anyone can think of the basic things they wish they knew before starting: learning to manage your time, asking questions in class, being an active member of the community, and so on. However, I think I can dig a little deeper into what I wish I knew. This fall, I face the fact that I am a 6th former. I am closer to being a freshman in college than to being a 3rd former again, but I still remember my first year like it was yesterday. And that’s the truth, that it was yesterday.”

“Over the summer, dozens of anonymous submission accounts started appearing on Instagram, showcasing countless first hand stories of racism and microaggressions towards Black students and other community members of color- including alumni and faculty- at predominately white institutions, mainly schools. These “BlackAt…” accounts made national news following the widespread, historic insurgences from supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement after the murder of George Floyd.”

Nationally and internationally, millions of people marched and protested in solidarity, becoming one of the largest movements in United States history. Among the communities involved was Pottstown.”

SPORTS • “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is much speculation regarding interscholastic sports at schools across the nation. As of now, Hill hopes to offer athletic opportunities to their students in the safest way possible, while still maintaining some sort of normality. While we cannot participate in any full-team activities yet, teams will engage in coach-directed individual skill training and small group work in flocks (groups of four or less students).”

Happy Return-of-Saturday-Classes and Mask of the Week! Today we have Emily Fairfield ‘22 with a flamingo mask her mom made for her.

”My mom has a degree in fashion design so she loves making things for me. So when COVID hit she took me to the fabric store so she could make me masks and I picked out a lot of cute prints. Flamingos are just one of those cute animals that everyone likes so I always feel good when I wear it.”
