Nicola Forth, a 3rd former this year, doesn’t end her day until 9 p.m. when she is finished with her late-night ice hockey practice. After her hours of Zoom classes, she immediately goes to practice at 4 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. She then has a final team workout on the ice and returns home at 9 p.m.

She assures us that balancing it is easy, because “hockey is my passion. It gives me a chance to compete and teaches me to overcome adversity.” Forth joined Hill as a new remote student this year because of her ice hockey commitments outside of school. She has been skating since the age of 9, and started ice hockey the following year, mainly playing center position.

Forth moved from Colorado to Schwenksville in June and will be joining Hill as a day student. Moving from state to state, she experienced some changes. Over the summer she left her previous club team, Team Colorado 14U AAA,  and joined The Jr. Flyers 14U AAA located in Pennsylvania. According to Forth, she got to know all the new girls and loves her team. Even though they have had only one tournament, there are more to come in the future.

Although she has made her fair share of sacrifices, Forth’s passion for hockey continues to drive her and keep her moving.
