The draft marks the arrival of new blood joining the gridiron. For many across the U.S it’s an exciting time to see the new future faces of their teams. The eighty eight NFL draft is taking place on April 28th in Detroit Michigan. Every team is putting their future on the line with each selection they make. Every player entering the draft will fulfill their childhood dreams of becoming a member of the NFL. It marks the beginning of unlimited possibilities. Either greatness or mediocrity awaits the promising young men.
First Overall: The Bears have recently traded away their Quarterback Justin Fields for pennies on the dollar. With the first overall pick in their possession the Bears are in a position to select Caleb Williams. Williams was the winner of the Heisman Trophy in 2022 and is considered the most NFL ready Quarterback prospect in the draft. The Bears are not in a position to be risky with this pick and it’s almost guaranteed that they selected Williams.
Fourth Overall: If the Arizona Cardinals have Marvin Harrison Jr. fall to them he will be selected. Harrison Jr. is the best non quarterback prospect in this draft and the Cardinals need a wide receiver. Many “experts” have mocked the Cardinals passing on him, but this makes no logical sense. Harrison Jr. would be the perfect weapon for Kyler Murray to prove his value in Arizona.
Tenth Overall: With Aaron Rodgers coming off his season ending ACL injury the Jets are looking for weapons. With Brock Bowers they get that versatile weapon they need. Bowers is an elite prospect at tight end and the jets are lacking in that position. This makes too much sense with their already stacked defense. If the Jets can’t be a contender with Bowers and their other off season additions nothing can save their franchise.
Twenty Second Overall: The Philadelphia Eagles have had an exceptional offseason coming off a disappointing season. With the additions of Saquon Barkley, C.J. Gardner Johnson and Bryce Huff they have bolstered their roster significantly. The only true position of need is cornerback. Cooper DeJean is an athletic freak that can bring the heat Philly desperately needs at cornerback. With two veteran cornerbacks James Bradberry and Darius Slay the Eagles are looking to get younger at the position.
