As the realistic idea of going back to Hill fades, athletes are trying to stick to a daily routine. Colleen Quinn ’21, member of the varsity softball team, has been making the most of her spare time during quarantine by doing so.
“We were put into [teams] as a workout competition,” Quinn said. “[We track] all the exercise we do during the week. [We] go for as hard as legit workouts or just talking a walk. Anything active counts.”
“We lost our season, just like every other team who was signed up to play a spring sport,” Quinn said. “We don’t get to try for a MAPL championship or state championship. We don’t get to continue our energy left off of our record-breaking season last year: [however,] I think next season we will be so strong. All this [frustration] built up from losing this season will only carry onto next. I know for me especially, I won’t ever take another time on the field for granted. You never know when you’re going to lose it. I think as a team, we’ll truly play every game of next year with so much grit.”
