The 2nd annual Pro Scholar Athletics (PSA) showcase made its way onto The Hill School’s campus on December 3.

The PSA Cardinals are a Nike-sponsored Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) program based in New York City. The showcase was created to generate exposure for its players and promote Nike brand items.

Previously, some of the nation’s best coaches, John Calipari (Kentucky) and Jay Wright (Villanova) have been in attendance to watch the top players.

With the abundance of high profile colleges in attendance, energy bounced throughout Gillison’s gym. Those colleges present were: Villanova, Brown, Virginia Tech, University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Connecticut.

The six-game showcase featured the top athletes from the program from each school.

“It was great to see all of my teammates again and play in such a competitive showcase,” Tyler Washington, a senior at The Hun School said. “There’s no place like Hill’s historic gym.”

The event was created by program head Terrance “Munch” Williams in conjunction with former head Hill Basketball coach Seth Eilberg in effort to host high-level high school athletes. These players hone the same personal goals of becoming successful on and off the court.

The addition of Chase Audige ’18 to the Hill boys’ basketball team in 2015 allowed for the event to happen. Audige is a two year member of the PSA team, and has carried on the winning culture to Hill’s basketball program.

“PSA is a great, caring program and they really look out for their players,” adds Audige said. “Not just while they are in the program, but many years after with more than just basketball.”

The Hill boys team played an exhilarating game against Canadian team Top Flight Academy.

Audige with the help of his teammates Nick Alikakos ’18, Daquan Morris ’18, Seth Maxwell ’18, Xavier Mayo ’19, and Caleb Dorsey ’20, led the team to a 58-39 victory.

Hill hopes to continue this annual event on the campus even after Audige’s departure from the school.
