Molly Brant

I could tell Molly was passionate about this election and voting! When asked why she thought it was important to vote in this election she said, “It was a very controversial election and a lot of people started to get more involved in the normal because of the state that our country is in right now.” She felt that everything was a mess within the country and there needs to be some stability. Molly felt that people’s rights, the economy, and racial equality were the biggest issues within herself and the country. Molly showed enthusiasm when asked what she would say to someone voting for the first time four years from now. She strongly stated, “Get involved before you vote, make sure you know what you are doing, know what you are talking about, make sure you have an idea of who you are voting for and what they want.” As a first-time voter in Reading Pa, Molly showed a lot of interest and passion in this 2020 election.

Tuesday, November 3 was Dominic Formando’s first-time voting. Dominic is from Reading Pennsylvania. He was excited about getting his “I voted” sticker and experiencing the whole voting process.

When asked about the importance of this 2020 election he said, “We have a lot of issues going on in the world. Not only in the United States, but outside the United States.” He then went on to say, “Me personally I tried to look at both issues going on inside and outside the United States to affect who I vote for in the presidential election.”

He also mentioned “Russia” and “Korea” as being two main issues outside of the United States. He followed these examples by saying “some foreign policies need to be put in place.

The “deal-breaker” for Dominic in choosing his candidate was the way the economy is being run. His reasoning was, “because I am a strong believer in a strong military and a hard-working country where everyone if you want to succeed in the United States you have to work for it instead of having it handed.”

Dominic felt as if the delayed resulted of the election were “sketchy” and then went on to say “it is a huge mess, the way everything is being handled.” Dominic has claimed to do a lot of research about voter fraud and has seen many conflicting things in the news, so I believe this could play a part in his take on things.

The last question I asked Dominic was what you would tell a first-time voter four years from now in the next election. He responded, “When it comes to voting, vote for what you believe in. If you believe in something and you are 1 out of 10 people and the other 9 out of 10 don’t believe in what you believe in, still vote for what you believe in.” From this, I can tell Dominic stands firm with his beliefs.
