New columnist analyzes politics and business

Dear Hill News readers,

My name is Alex Glamazdin, and I am a 5th former from Moscow. I will be writing opinion pieces for the Hill newspaper, focusing on the U.S. and global politics, as well as business news.

In 2020 identity politics has become the most popular strategy of career politicians and the media, who try to invoke tribalism and divide people based on their race, sex, nationality, and class. Progressive, left-wing opinions dominate today’s media, and it becomes harder and harder to discern biased narratives from real news. My goal as a Hill News opinion writer is to bring a more conservative perspective to the table, providing critical analysis of both political parties.

I associate myself politically with libertarian conservatism. I oppose government involvement in a citizen’s personal life, am in favor of free-market capitalism, and value human individuality over group identity. My fundamental belief is that even a single human is capable of amazing things, given he is free to choose.

I hope to clear up the confusion surrounding current political events and encourage people to challenge their settled beliefs.
